Fowey.

Links and Info;

Fowey, located on the estuary of the River Fowey has much to offer the visitor, wether local or tourist. There are many places of interest not only in the town but the surrounding area too. The views from Fowey to Polruan equal those from Mevagissey. Much can be learnt about the town by visiting the Museum or taking a guided walk on a Tuesday morning during the summer season. St Fimbarrus Church, rebuilt in 1460 by the Earl of Warwick after being destroyed by French marauders and situated in the heart of the town is worth a look. It is generally open to visitors during the day. (Service times are displayed on the Church notice board.) Fowey Aquarium, underneath the Town Hall on Town Quay is a great treat for the children, it is open during the summer months. Polruan, across the harbour from Fowey is an interesting village with cottages clinging to the hillside. There are panoramic views of the harbour and coast from various vantage points.
