One 400 watt bulb generally provides adequate light for 10 square feet of space.
Ideal for most peoples needs. Try the sea of green method.
One 1000 watt light provides adequate light for 20 square feet of space.
The use of light movers can extend these coverage areas.
To get the most from your lamps, use mylar or white reflective glossy plastic on all surfaces.
Dont be pikey and use baking foil, mirrors, and white paint unless you have to.
They do not reflect light adequately.
You need the grow lamps as close to the plants as you can.
The distance varies depending on bulb etc. The temperature around the leaf must not exceed 84 degrees Fahrenheit.
You must have atleast one medium size oscillating fan for any size grow space, no matter how small.
It helps keep the temperature down!
Do not place cacti too close to these lamps.
For safety reasons if buying a timer, get a good one. Dont buy a 2.99 jobby from the pound shop and plug 4 grow lamps into it.
The timer will either fail and ruin your project or worse still, burn your house down.
Obviously take care when using electricty and water in the same room.
